In the midst of childhood abuse, a difficult parent divorce, and societal expectations within the Hispanic culture, Lisa found herself consistently labeled as the "bigger girl," leading to bullying and turning to food for comfort.
After enduring a narcissistic relationship, she reached her heaviest weight at 350 pounds. Gym anxiety was real! Lisa, determined to reclaim her narrative, took a pivotal step towards transformation. Shedding 150 pounds, she emerged triumphant, only to encounter another challenging phase – a traumatic experience of sexual assault and later, the heartbreak of a miscarriage, causing her to regain her weight. However, from the depths of these hardships, Lisa draws inspiration and support from her loved ones and close friends. Additionally, her faith fuels her determination. Lisa's resilience became evident. Therapy turned into her safe haven, a place where she concentrated on healing her mental health and navigating her weight loss journey. It was within this transformative process that Mi Mindful was born.
